Job Description: Piping Flexibility Engineer (CAESAR II) Job Title: Piping Flexibility Engineer (CAESAR II) Location: Brest, France or Remote (Supplier's Office) Contract Type: Fixed-term Contract Project Duration: ASAP to September 2025 Reporting To: Stress Engineer, TIG Department Job Purpose: As part of the naval project pre-design and detailed engineering phases, the Piping Flexibility Engineer will be responsible for independently performing piping flexibility studies, interfacing with other engineering disciplines, and producing technical deliverables aligned with project specifications. Key Responsibilities: Technical Activities: - Collect and analyze project data necessary for flexibility studies.
- Review and understand project timelines and design/vendor information availability.
- Configure CAESAR II with support from the Stress Engineer.
- Input load cases including operating, occasional, and exceptional scenarios.
- Prepare supporting calculation sheets for checks outside CAESAR. Modeling and Analysis: - Model piping networks using pre-studied designs.
- Analyze results: stress levels, displacements, loads on supports, leak criteria, interface forces.
- Generate calculation notes summarizing assumptions, results, and system specifics.
- Specify equipment/components related to flexibility analysis. Interface and Documentation: - Provide interface data for support, structural, and civil engineering teams.
- Participate in technical reviews as required.
- Regularly report progress and highlight issues or needs. Deliverables: - Flexibility analysis models and results.
- Summary calculation reports.
- Interface data for other engineering disciplines.
- Monthly activity report for billing justification. Required Qualifications and Skills: - Minimum 5 years’ experience in piping flexibility analysis.
- Full proficiency with CAESAR II version 13 (parameterization, modeling, input of load cases, exploitation of results) or spreadsheets for further verification)
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of codes and standards: ASME, CODETI, EN standards, and PED.
- Capable of using engineering documentation.
- Ability to work independently and interface with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Experience: - Experience in greenfield and brownfield petrochemical installations.
- Background in basic engineering and detailed design studies. Workplace Options: - Option 1: office in Brest.
- Option 2: Supplier’s office (Supplier must provide all necessary IT equipment, software, and CAESAR license) Compensation: - Fixed price in Euros (excluding VAT).
- Daily rate breakdown by profile type.
- Inclusion of all expenses and possible discounts. Compliance and Safety: - Must comply with legal regulations on working conditions, hygiene, safety, and environmental protection.
- Attend site safety induction if working at Brest location.
