Wood is currently recruiting a piping engineer in Basra, Iraq. This is a rotational onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirements.

Wood has been awarded an onshore project to support an international client operation by providing brownfield engineering and design services. The vision of this contract is to enhance the production and asset integrity across various locations. A team of engineers and designers based in Basra and Dubai supports the execution of these projects. Projects under this contract focus on flare system revamps and re-ignition, rehab of aging assets, BTEX emission control, flare gas recovery, and replacement or upgrade of obsolete equipment, piping, and systems.

Celebrating long service provides an opportunity for the business to demonstrate their appreciation of the hard work, dedication, and many years of service of our employees at 5-year service milestones Responsibilities Piping design, supporting, ancillary structures Identify technical problems and appropriately engage the business technical team Comply with company values and QA system Be familiar with PEM Contribute to continuous improvement of HSE and quality within the project and everyday office environment Identify temporary materials required for the pipe pre-commissioning activities Check and monitor the quality of own work and the work of the draughtsmen and designers Use ANSYS Fluent or equivalent CFD software as required Provide assistance to the construction contractor for resolution of issues Review and approve stress isometrics and calculation packages QualificationsWhat makes you remarkable?

Expected:
Flange, valve, fitting, and bend selection Preparation of flange, valve, fittings, and bends specifications and data sheets Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in an engineering field of study and 0 to 3 years of work-related experience (new graduate - BE/BTech Mechanical) HTS WTB or equivalent Candidates shall be fluent in English Be able to multi-task between several projects About the CompanyWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
