Job Description
The role involves working at schools in Smithfield, VA. The candidate must have the ability to weld all types of materials, including tig and stick welding on plates and pipes. This includes handling piping joints such as sockets, butts, consumable rings, backing rings, and open butts. The welder is expected to use their personal basic tools and equipment for welding tasks if not provided by the workplace. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas is essential, along with ensuring the proper care of equipment and facilities. Adherence to all company policies and rules is mandatory, and a keen attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks is expected.
ResponsibilitiesWeld all types of materials including tig and stick welding on plates and pipes.Handle piping joints such as sockets, butts, consumable rings, backing rings, and open butts.Utilize personal basic tools and equipment for welding tasks if not provided by the workplace.Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.Ensure proper care of equipment and facilities.Adhere to all company policies and rules.Demonstrate keen attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks.Essential SkillsExperience in pipe welding, including 6G, construction, and stick welding.Ability to pass a 6G 2-inch schedule 80 X-Ray pipe test.3+ years of experience in the field.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in construction pipe welding.Ability to read welding blueprints.Work Environment
The work environment involves a day shift from 6am-5pm, 6-7 days a week, including weekends. The role involves exposure to various weather conditions, work in confined spaces or heights, prolonged standing, and physical exertion. Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching are required. Noise levels may be moderate to high, and the work involves close contact with other team members.
