**Job Title: Pipe Welder** **Job Description** A manufacturer and distributor of mechanical seals is seeking a skilled Pipe Welder. This role involves welding on pipe and pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter. The position includes fabricating parts primarily for the seals and pump industry but can encompass a variety of tasks due to the job shop environment. Welding is always done in position. Typical welding tasks include TIG and Flux core. **Responsibilities** + Perform welding on pipe and pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter. + Fabricate parts for the seals and pump industry in a job shop environment. + Conduct TIG root, TIG fill passes, and Flux Core cap welding. + Complete a weld test on 2" Stainless Steel schedule 40 Pipe in a 6G position using TIG and flux core techniques. **Essential Skills** + 7+ years of experience in pipe welding. + Proficient in 6G welding. + Expertise in TIG and Flux Core welding techniques. + Ability to work autonomously and self-driven. + Blueprint reading skills. + Experience with short arc MIG welding, GMAW, and GTAW processes. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Extensive experience in TIG and Flux Core welding. + Ability to weld on heat exchanger tube sheets and thin diameter tubing. + Competency in welding both thick and thin materials. **Why Work Here?** Join a national company with a strong book of business that offers health, dental, and vision benefits. The shop is very organized, comprising 20 total workers including assemblers, warehouse staff, welders, and CNC programmers. Currently, there is only one machinist in Houston. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses. The shift is from Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, with Saturday hours from 6:00 am to 11:00 am or 2:00 pm depending on workflow. Candidates can work as many hours as they desire as long as they produce perfect parts and complete work orders without defects. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. This position is in a shop environment, No travelers, local only. Must have 7+ years of actual work experience in a shop, No Field Welders **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
