Total Number of Openings 1 Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of **Pipe Fitter / Welder** located in **Salt Lake City, Utah** through October 6th, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (MST). The successful candidates should be capable and skilled in the pipefitter, boilermaker, and welding trades. This position will work in an environment with extremely strict safety and work requirements at the Chevron Salt Lake City Refinery. This is not an entry level position. Successful candidates will be experienced and at a journeyman level within the trade. **Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:** + The Pipefitter-Welder will make mechanical repairs to piping, vessels, furnaces, exchangers, boilers, steel structures and other equipment in all process units in the refinery. + The position will typically work a 4/10 dayshift work schedule. Typical shifts are M-Th or T-F but can vary based on work needs. Occasional shift work is required. The position may also require work outside regular shifts when needed. + Work associated with this position is done outdoors year-round. + The position works with other maintenance crafts; reliability, operations, and engineering on a daily basis. **Required Qualifications:** + High School Diploma or Equivalent. + Valid Driver’s License. + Minimum of 5 years experience in a related industry, or an Apprenticeship or Certificate from a Trade or Technical School, with experience. + Must be familiar with isometric and structural drawings. + Must be familiar with fabrication and welding of pipe spools. + All applicants must pass a welding test within 6 months of employment. 2” Carbon Steel pipe test, 6 G position. + Must have a proven safety record and be familiar with OSHA requirements for the trade. + All jobs are safety sensitive and are subject to random drug testing. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Refinery Experience. + Must have a strong team and communications skills **Relocation Options:** Relocation will be considered only for internal candidates. **International Considerations:** Expatriate assignments will not be considered. **Assessment** As part of the application process, you will be required to take an assessment that measures aptitude and work styles. We recommend you allow approx. 45 minutes to complete the assessment in one sitting. If you need to exit, your progress will be saved. You will be immediately directed to the testing portal upon submittal of your application, at which point you will have 72 hours (about 3 days) to complete the online assessment. Once complete, your assessment score will be valid for 180 days. Should you re-apply for another Job Requisition within this timeframe that includes the **Maintenance Assessment,** you will be required to complete the application process and then click on the assessment link.
