PI Specialist - Surgical Services
What We Offer PI Specialist - Surgical Services From Data to Decisions: Advancing Patient Care & Operational Excellence. In this position, you will analyze data and identify trends to create initiatives to improve operational excellence for the Surgical Services department. Intermediate to expert level proficiency with Excel, EPIC and PowerPoint software and previous experience and proficiency with data analysis in a health care environment required (surgical services/hospital environment preferred). Work Location: New Hanover Regional Medical Center (Wilmington, North Carolina) Work Schedule: Flexible, Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm and/or 7 am - 4 pm Position Status: Exempt/Salaried What You'll Do + Audits the clinicians electronic medical records for completeness and correctness. The review includes clinical diagnosis, OASIS, medications and orders + Reviews, corrects and approves all verbal orders prior to mailing to the physician + Accepts and inputs verbal orders received in the office. Communicates the new order to the appropriate clinician or supervisor + Conducts monthly and quarterly medical record audits as assigned + Ensures all OASIS are correct prior to transmission by reviewing and correcting the SHP audits daily + Responsible for auditing clinical documentation and ensuring OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) compliance + Performs Performance Improvement activities as assigned. + Communicates medical record review or audit findings to the PI or Clinical Supervisor + Conducts focus studies and projects as assigned + Reports PI statics to the management team as assigned + Complies with accepted professional standards and principles. Promotes good customer service + Ensures compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation and regulatory requirements + Demonstrates Standards of Performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. What We're Looking For Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: Three years’ experience in healthcare, preferred. Licensure/Certification: North Carolina RN License, required. Graduate of accredited nursing program Valid Driver’s license, preferred. Why Choose Novant Health?
