Technical Skills Required
1. Python Programming
• Strong understanding of Python syntax and features (especially across versions, e.g., Python 3.6 → 3.10+).
• Experience with Python package management (pip, venv, conda, etc.).
• Ability to refactor or update legacy Python code to be compatible with newer versions.
2. Apache Airflow
• Hands-on experience with Airflow DAGs, Operators, Sensors, and Hooks.
• Familiarity with Airflow configuration, plugins, and deployment.
• Understanding of Airflow version changes (e.g., from 1.x to 2.x or 2.x to 2.7+) and their impact on DAGs and architecture.
3. OCP (OpenShift Container Platform)
• Experience deploying and managing applications on OpenShift.
• Understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in OpenShift for deploying Airflow and Python apps.
4. Version Upgrade & Migration
• Experience upgrading Python environments and resolving compatibility issues.
• Experience upgrading Airflow (including database migrations, breaking changes, and plugin compatibility).
• Knowledge of testing strategies to validate upgrades (unit tests, integration tests, DAG validation).
