The Corewell Health Department of Neurological Health is seeking to add a full-time headache neurologist to their well established, high-volume practice.

 

About the practice and position:

100% headache practice with light callWell-established with 2 fulltime Headache Neurologist and 3 APPs​Large multispecialty program which includes general neurology and a neurology residency program60-minutes for new patient consults and 30-minute return visitsProcedures include onsite infusions, Botox injections, Nerve blocksExcellent patient resources including pain psychologists onsite, PharmD support, RN case management, and experienced, caring staff

We’re looking for a candidate with the following qualities:

Fellowship trained headache neurologist, skilled in all areas of practice in headache medicinePatient-centered with an empathetic approach to patient careSkilled in the management of patients with medical and psychiatric comorbiditiesEnjoys teaching residents and medical students as they rotate through clinicEmbraces the role of APPs on the team to increase access and deliver excellent careThrives on a busy, dynamic practice with many facets – patient consults, working with MA/RNs to respond to calls, and managing IV treatments to name a few

Essential Functions

Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.

Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
