The ideal candidate will possess previous chair experience and has shown the ability to develop and communicate a strategic vision; experience with developing organizational culture; history of effective recruitment of physicians and APPs; experience supporting graduate medical education; demonstrated effectiveness in leading teams to excellent quality outcomes; and character and demeanor reflective of the Mission, Vision, and Values of Ascension Saint Agnes. **Responsibilities:** + The position will have an approximately 25% administrative component; the scope of the role will be managed so as to fit within that. + Medical staff responsibilities include serving on the Medical Executive Committee; reviewing the credentials of new applicants; supporting section chiefs in quality improvement activities; and ensuring an inclusive, collegial, and professional environment. + Administrative responsibilities include articulating the goals and vision for the department to internal and external constituencies; assisting in recruitment of physicians and APPs; providing support and guidance to section chiefs; and ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the department, across disciplines, and with administration + Assumes bottom-line responsibility for department capital and operating budgets. Meets or exceeds budgeted targets. + Supervises department and departmental subsections.
