Physician Billing Representative Associate - York - Days

Full time (80 hours biweekly)
Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Remote capable - but requires onsite presence on certain days

General Summary

Performs a variety of duties to complete the billing and payment process for numerous clients including, but not limited to, account follow up, resolving problems and interacting with third party payers and patients to achieve payment of accounts in accordance with current government and payer regulations. Represents the System in a professional manner, using good customer service practices in the performance of all duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Performs various functions to complete and expedite the billing process including, but not limited to, recording patient identification data and physician diagnosis, investigating charges, correcting and updating data, preparing the claim to bill, and updating computer functions.Posts all payments and adjustments to the correct patient's account.Processes rejections and invoice corrections, and rebills in a timely manner.Initiates paperwork for refunds.Resolves billing problems and/or receives insurance updates.Makes written and/or verbal inquiries to offices or third party payers to reconcile patient accounts.Processes and distributes HCFA 1500's and MA claim forms as required.Reconciles reports at the end of the day.

Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment and safety standards.Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

1 year Insurance billing experience. Required

Courses and Training:

Medical Terminology Upon Hire Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.ICD9 & CPT coding.Insurance knowledge.Computer skills.Typing 45-50 wpm.10 key calculator 90-100 kspm.Must pass the bar assessment during the 90 day introductory period.
