Job Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.Our well-established Hospital Medicine Unit seeks a PA candidate to join our strong inpatient medicine team. We are a general medicine service that works in collaboration with supervising physicians to care for high acuity, medically complex inpatients. This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive care in a supportive environment at a top-tier academic medical center. Although internal medicine and/or inpatient experience is preferred, we are also committed to training motivated new graduates who seek a career in hospital medicine. There is a 12-week transition to practice program to ensure high quality onboarding upon starting.
Our service offers a rotating daytime schedule with 12 hour shifts. Weekends and holidays are required.

Key roles and responsibilities
Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.Performs complete histories and physical examinations.Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.Licenses and Credentials
Massachusetts Physician Assistant License (not required for job application, but must have prior to start)Experience
