Description

Emory University Student Health Services (EUSHS) seeks a part time (0.8 FTE) Physician Assistant (PA) to provide outpatient primary care to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

With physician supervision, the PA conducts patient interviews, performs physical exams, and interprets diagnostic dataPerforms basic office microscopy, clinical testing, and office proceduresCollects and interprets diagnostic data to implement appropriate patient care plansProvides patient education, promotes wellness, and collaborates with other health care professionals in the care of studentsWorks closely with MDs, RNs, LPNs, MAs, LCSWs, nutritionists and health educators as part of care teamEngages in designated team meetings i.e., provider division meeting and morning huddlesParticipates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of evidence-based medicine, current trends, practices, and developmentsThe PA must become competent and compliant with the electronic medical records, including timely and accurate charting, follow lab results and communicate with patients, and be compliant with all policies and procedures of EUSHSDaily in-person clinical schedule as well as coverage of Saturday morning clinics (when applicable, infrequently) and night/weekend on call phone triage (secondary call) both of which are in rotation with other Student Health Services providersOther duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Georgia

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Currently certified by the appropriate board (NCCPA).3 – 5 years of direct patient care experience in areas of primary care, urgent care, and sexual/reproductive health.Superior communication and interpersonal skills especially under stressful situations experienced by young adults and their families; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and departments in a complex and vibrant university and academic healthcare setting

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
