Job Details We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our breast surgery team, providing direct clinical and surgical support to a single, high-volume breast surgeon. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in breast health, surgical oncology, and multidisciplinary cancer care. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients throughout their breast cancer treatment journey. Key Responsibilities: Outpatient Duties: Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations independently and alongside the surgeon. Assist with breast cancer surveillance and benign breast disease management. Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care. Manage phone calls, patient inquiries, prescription refills, and care coordination. Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR. Inpatient/Surgical Support: First-assist in the operating room for a range of breast procedures (lumpectomy, mastectomy, SLNB, reconstruction collaboration). Perform wound care, dressing changes, and drain management. Participate in inpatient rounds as needed. Coordinate hospital discharges and post-op planning. Administrative & Team-Based Care: Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case discussions. Communicate effectively with medical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic surgery, genetics, and nursing teams. Support clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects, if desired. Maintain compliance with all institutional, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program NCCPA Certification Licensed (or license-eligible) as a PA in NYS. DEA BLS and ACLS Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) Prior experience in surgery, oncology, or women’s health preferred, but new graduates with relevant clinical rotations are encouraged to apply Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Compassionate, patient-centered approach Salary Range USD $66.55 - USD $90.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
