We are seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team located at 104 Endicott Street in Danvers.
Our Urgent Care Center serves as a convenient and affordable urgent care option for those living and working in the North Shore area. Our qualified, friendly health care providers treat adults and children. From coughs and colds to cuts and broken bones, our providers offer great care for a range of illnesses and injuries in this clean, modern center. We know urgent medical situations often happen unexpectedly, so our clinic is open seven days a week. Our weekday operating hours are 8:00am-8:00pm and weekends from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Most visits last less than an hour, so our patients can get back to what matters.
Schedule Expectations: Our per-diem Advanced Practice Providers are expected to work at least (2) shifts per month, one of which needs to be on a weekend.
Job Summary
SummaryThe Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.
Essential Functions
-Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
-Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.

Master's Degree Physician Assistant required

Current Physician Assistant licensure in the state of MA required

2 years of experience as a PA required

- Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
