Physical Therapist (PT) – Sports Medicine

Full-time

Work location: Texas Health Sports Medicine – Ft. Worth, 800 5th Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

Sports Medicine department

Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 7:00AM-6:00PM and Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM, no weekends, schedule varies.

Here’s What You Need

·        Bachelor’s Degree Physical Therapy upon hire Required Or
Master’s degree Physical Therapy upon hire Required Or
Other Doctorate Physical Therapy upon hire Required.

Other Board-certified Clinical Specialist Upon Hire Preferred: Sports Certified Specialists (ABPTS), Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist – CSCS (NSCA)

·        Two (2) years prior experience Or Residency-trained strongly preferred.

·        PT – Physical Therapist Texas – Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required

·        BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

·        Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

·        Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills.

·        Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

What You Will Do

·        Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.

·        Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.

·        Educate patients and families through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.

·        Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.

·        Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.

·        Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration with local athletic trainers and physicians
