An Orthopaedic Physical Therapist specializes in evaluating, treating, and preventing injuries and conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Their primary goal is to restore movement, reduce pain, improve function, and help patients safely and efficiently return to daily activities, work, or sports.
A caregiver in this position works Monday—Thursday 7:00am—7:00pm| Fridays 7:00am—4:00pm| Rotating Saturday coverage (3 per year) 8:00am—12:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform initial and on-going assessments of patient condition.
Establish, revise and evaluate a plan of care appropriate to problems identified and involve the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
Supervise activities of Physical Therapy Assistants, students and other support personnel.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree or certificate
Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
