Responsibilities

Therapists are responsible for the application of current knowledge, theory, evidence and sound clinical judgment in patient management. The therapist works closely with the patient, family and other members of an interdisciplinary team to provide efficient and effective individualized patient care. Therapists also serve as advocates and promoters of health, wellness, and fitness to all stakeholders. They serve as educators and mentors for therapy students, peers and other medical professionals. The physical therapist assists with department and program planning.



Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. 

License or Certification

Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota as a Physical Therapist. 

Additional Qualifications

Experience treating edema/lymphedema and cancer survivors along the entire continuum of care 

CLT-LANA and ABPTS Oncologic Clinical Specialist (OncCS) 

Strong manual therapy skills with manual lymphatic drainage and myofascial release

Active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Demonstrated skills in the areas of organization, communication, interpersonal relations, leadership, decision making and problem solving

Prefer board certification in clinical specialty area and/or advanced degree in health care field

Schedule Details

Primary schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in outpatient lymphedema & cancer rehabilitation clinic. Will also include scheduled time in acute care hospital based on practice needs.

Weekend Schedule

one in four weekends in acute care hospital with compensatory days off around the weekend
