Physical Therapist, ICUDescription:
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Provides physical therapy specialized care services for patients admitted in the ICU assisting them to reach highest level of physical independence. Patient population including but not limited to: LVAD, IABP, ECMO, and Heart Transplant. Conducts physical therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease or injury. Specialized in care for complex patient types, through advanced training and education. Responsible for the care of patients treated by residents, therapist assistants, technicians, students, and observers.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with a BS, MS, or DPT. Must maintain current CEUs as required by the State.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current licensure in the State of Georgia in applicable field of study. Current Georgia Physical Therapist License. BLS through AHA required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of the ICU orientation within 1 year of hire. Experience with research and analysis of data preferred. Must be able to evaluate data and make independent decisions. Completion of a physical therapist residency, specialty certification through APTA, or two years of previous healthcare experience as a Physical therapist preferred.
