Physical Security Specialist

Position summary

The Physical Security Specialist will provide technical and administrative support to the Chief Security Officer of North America and to the Physical Security Specialist in Melbourne, FL, for security projects related to the safety and security of employees, guests, and customers. This position is located at Alliance Fort Worth but will be responsible for assisting with functions at the Mesa, Arizona facility, with the potential for occasional travel. The individual in this position must be able to take direction well and work independently.

The Physical Security Specialist will work with site focal points to ensure security measures are coordinated and implemented according to policies. They will also support a security program in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and other regulations as set forth by the Security Department.

Job responsibilities Perform visitor control support, including processing incoming and outgoing visit requests and verifying visitor identification. Provide technical planning, analysis, and assistance in support of security projects. Coordinate with construction and infrastructure program counterparts as needed. Prepare correspondence for management signature. Interpret existing rules, regulations, and agency policies to provide guidance. Develop and analyze security program resource requests. Prepare reports, memoranda, briefing papers, and other written materials for internal and external use. Assist with documentation, revision, and/or development of physical security plans. Enter, retrieve, and maintain data in specific databases. Review documents for accuracy and completeness. Assist with the implementation of security plans. Assist with developing and implementing programs to confirm access card logs and security camera recordings for Texas and Arizona sites, and potentially as backup for all North American sites. Ensure operability and integrity of physical security systems. Receive and process security clearance messages and conduct limited criminal history checks. Review, track, and maintain Airport Operations Area (AOA) access program where warranted. Conduct routine audits of the AOA access program with airport authorities. Conduct and document physical security assessments and surveys for Texas and Arizona sites, and potentially as backup for all North American sites. Maintain and track the Visitor Management System for Texas and Arizona sites, and potentially as backup for all North American sites, including the review and approval of watch-listed personnel. Prepare, review, and disseminate site-specific post orders and standard operating procedures for contracted security personnel. Oversee contracted security personnel and daily operations. Maintain the access control program and equipment for Texas and Arizona sites, and potentially as backup for all North American sites. Maintain closed-circuit television (CCTV) program and equipment for Texas and Arizona sites, and potentially as backup for all North American sites. Create, manage, and complete invoices associated with the Chief Security Officer cost center as backup if needed. Act as Chief Security Officer cost center procurement assistant focal point if required. Essential knowledge, skills, and abilities

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Experience

3–5 years of specialized experience related to the duties described. Military, law enforcement, or prior security experience highly desirable.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Experience supporting security projects such as strategic planning, facility protection, law enforcement, physical/electronic security, recovery planning, and transportation security. Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with government employees and outside sources. Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. High level of confidentiality and adaptability to change. Knowledge of federal government regulations related to security facilities. Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong interpersonal skills. Working conditions / environment / special requirements Ability to work safely and professionally, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
