Physical Security Lead - Pittsburgh PA

This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Extensive law enforcement experience with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, or related field is preferred, in addition to experience in the military, risk mitigation, or private security management experience with a focus on physical security. You will be assigned a PNC office space at PNC Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA but occasional travel outside of this area to support the physical security needs of the bank may be required. Qualified candidate must have the ability to be on-call after hours/weekends and will receive calls that may require guidance, investigative support or an in-person response should criminal activity be confirmed. You work with physical and electronic security vendors to ensure our PNC assets are appropriately protected, and equipment is installed where applicable to meet PNC standards. You will be asked to work closely with both facility and construction project managers, and to participate in/ provide input and oversight for projects that impact physical security. Proficient computer and communications skills to be able to write reports, create presentations, provide in-person or remote training to PNC employees, and be able to effectively communicate with PNC Management on the status of cases and/or physical security operations. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and coordinate complex, large-scale physical security investigations involving threats, criminal activity, and other incidents impacting PNC’s operations or employees. • Work closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as internal security, legal, and risk management teams. • Gather, analyze, and evaluate evidence to support investigative findings and prepare comprehensive reports. • Provide threat assessments and recommend mitigation strategies to protect people, property, and information. • Support emergency response operations during critical incidents. • Train and mentor junior security staff in investigative best practices. Required Qualifications: • Minimum of 10 years of federal, state or local law enforcement experience with a strong investigative background; experience in physical security or corporate security preferred. • Proven experience managing multi-jurisdictional investigations. • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to maintain the highest levels of discretion, confidentiality and integrity. • Proficient in investigative tools, databases, and technology. • Willingness to travel and work non-standard hours during critical incidents Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in the financial services industry • Familiarity with security technologies and incident management platforms • Background in interagency coordination or public-private partnerships • Knowledge of Access Control Systems • Building Architecture, • Disaster Recovery Planning, • Information/Network Security • Physical Security • Risk Assessments Preferred Skills: • Experience with threat assessment and protective intelligence. • Knowledge of financial crimes investigations and banking security operations. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Technologically savvy, analyzes current conditions to identify new areas of risk and performs local or regional assessments of protection risks/exposure. + Offers subject matter expertise surrounding the physical security strategy. Oversees and/or performs site inspections. Ensures adherence to the overall physical security strategy and standards. Develops scalable strategies and procedures to combat areas or risk/exposure including the maintenance and monitoring of access control systems and video surveillance systems. Applies knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local laws relating to security administration. + Maintains established relationships with various areas of law enforcement in service of securing PNC employees, locations and assets, both in response to and in anticipation of threats. Investigates security issues/concerns with local police, employees and any 3rd party. Provides executive protection in limited instances. + Manages assigned relationships which may include overseeing contract terms and ensuring that all service level agreements are met. + Provides direction and guidance to contracted and full- time physical security staff. Consults with branch staff, retail operations managers and major building staff. Develops & facilitates the physical security training. Identifies new and innovative approaches to training of security systems and procedures. + Proactively partners and networks with law enforcement in service of securing PNC employees, locations and assets, both in response to and in anticipation of threats. Manages & directs physical security initiatives and enterprise wide projects, research and assignments related to physical security.
