PRN Inpatient Physiatrist to Cover Call and Vacation for Rehab Units

WellSpan Health is seeking an experienced Physiatrist to provide PRN coverage for established Inpatient Rehabilitation Units in Lebanon and Ephrata, PA. This opportunity is ideal for a physician seeking flexible, meaningful clinical work with predictable scheduling.

Position Highlights

Coverage Need:

One weekend per month call coverage for both units. Primarily home call with in-person care as neededApproximately 12 weeks per year. Weekday coverage for vacations/scheduled time off. 6 weeks in Lebanon and 6 weeks in Ephrata (Lancaster County)

Weekend Call Coverage

Weekend Call coverage every 4th weekend: Friday 5:00 PM - Monday 7:00 AMProvide call coverage for inpatient rehab units at: WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital offsite Rehab Unit (Lebanon):
14-bed unit | Average census 10-11 patientsWellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital (Lancaster County):
8-bed unit | Average census 5-6 patientsPerform admissions as needed Brief daily nursing call to review charts, labs, vitalsNo routine rounding on weekends unless clinically indicatedSites are approximately 40 minutes apart; admissions typically occur at only one site per weekend

Weekday Coverage (Scheduled Time Off)

Coverage occurs at one rehab unit only to cover our physiatrists time off Daily rounding on all patients, admissions, and dischargesParticipation in: Daily 15-minute morning huddlesTeam conferencesEvening calls are limited to the covered unit and typically minimalSchedules are available at least one month in advance

Ideal Candidate

Physiatrist with minimum of 2 years of direct inpatient rehabilitation experience requiredIndependent, clinically confident, and collaborativeWell-suited for a physician seeking flexibility, balance, and continuity of care

Minimum Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required orDoctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required orLicensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics or Board eligible. Upon Hire Required andCompletion of a Pediatric residency. Upon Hire Required
