**Business Description**
Opto Diode is a stand-alone $17 Business unit based in Camarillo, CA. The unit manufactures a range of sensors and emitters covering short wavelengths, X-rays, EUV, UV, visible, near IR, to mid IR wavelengths. Their standard and custom solutions meet a variety of application requirements for aerospace, environmental, fire, flame or gas detection, medical, military, industrial, scientific, or semiconductor markets. Opto Diode products have supported the photonics industry for over 30 years and earned a reputation for high performance, superior quality and reliability. The Business unit is part of the ITW Electrostatics Division.
**Position Summary**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Photonics Test Technician to support the testing and validation of photonic and photo sensing components and systems. This role is critical in ensuring the performance, reliability, and quality of products used in applications such, sensing, medical devices, and defense. The Test technician is responsible for assembling and testing company products. This position may specialize in particular products or processes, or move to and from different testing areas. Finally, this position is required to complete paperwork fully, accurately, and timely, as well as clean and maintain work area and equipment including tools.
**Responsibilities**
+ Adheres to product quality standards, and standard operating procedures
+ Tests assembled finished components, or raw die and completes required documentation into various computer systems.
+ Compute or record photonic test data.
+ Provides support and feedback to leadership, engineering and quality teams to ensure standards are met and products
+ conform to customer requirements.
+ Adheres to product quality standards, and standard operating procedures including ISO standards.
+ Complete basic troubleshooting.
+ Assembles, disassembles, and cleans a wide range of products, using drawings, work instructions, and tests to performance specifications.
+ Identify defective products or materials during production, as required by company procedures.
+ Adheres to facility safety and health requirements; wears prescribed PPE.
+ Maintains work area, tools and/or equipment, and machines.
**Position Qualifications and Requirements**
**Education**
+ High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
+ Associates degree preferred in photonics, electronics, or a related technical field.
**Experience/Skills:**
+ 2+ Years experience in a photonics, semiconductor, or electronics testing environment.
+ Effective communication & interpersonal skills — ability to express ideas in individual and group situations, and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
+ Ability to inspect and manipulate small and delicate items using a variety of tools
+ Good manufacturing operations knowledge and practices.
+ Computer experience with Knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
+ Proficient English data entry skills required
+ High level of accuracy and attention to detail
+ Good Problem solving and, multi-tasking skills
+ Good decision-making skills
+ Ability to maintain high productivity on repetitive tasks while working in a fast-paced environment
+ Previous clean room experience preferred.
+ Proficient use of microscope
+ Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, sit, reach outward, twist/turn, handle/manipulate objects, stand, grasp, bend, squat, crawl, climb, and type.
2. The employee must carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up 50 pounds occasionally and push and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.
3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus.

7. Finger Dexterity — The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

Computer, Microsoft Office Suite, calculator, telephone, fax, scanner, printer, hand tools, gauges, small power equipment, test meters (multimeter, current clamp meter, A/C voltage detector, digital thermohygrometer), various assembly fixtures, pallet jack, service lift and required safety and electrical personal protective equipment (PPE).

**Compensation Information:**
The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is below: $26.00-$31.00 per hour. In addition to base pay Full time employees are available for benefits such as Vacation time, Holiday Pay, Health, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) program.
