At WOOD-TV, we’re successful because of the people we hire.  The News Photographer operates television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports.  This individual operates TVUs for live shots.  And the person we hire for this opening will find video, dial in live shots and edit the stories we air on newscasts.

Responsibilities:

Shoots video for news reports.Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements.Sets up, composes and executes video shots.Maintains video equipment.Edits video clips for television broadcasts.Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

High school diploma.Fluency in English.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.We prefer someone with one year experience operating video recording equipment.Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.Proficiency with video recording equipment.Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Flexibility to work any shift.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements: High stress environment with deadline pressures. Must be able work outdoors in all weather conditions and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment or items such as cameras, tripods, lights, etc. up to 25 pounds.
