Phoenix - Process Trainer

Position Description:

At Nevada Gold Mines, our vision is to be the world’s most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people. Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Process Trainer at our Phoenix operations. As part of the Process Division, the successful candidate will be a team player adding to our rewarding working environment. The ideal candidate will develop and conduct training programs for operators and maintenance technicians in the Process department, to ensure they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude to perform their assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as new employee orientation, on-the-job training, use of computers and software, health, safety and environmental practices, and refresher training.

Coordinates and conducts on-the-job training and/or offsite training activities for both operations and maintenance personnel.

Collaborates with management and supervisors to determine training needs within the Process division.

Formulates teaching outlines and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.

Selects or develops testing and evaluation procedures to be used prior to and at completion of training.

Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training, including completion of operator/technician assessments for upgrades.

Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.

Maintains, in coordination with the Process Business Assistant, documentation of training records, job skill assessments, and other records in Damstra.

Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference materials.

As required, participate in incident investigations (injury, significant near-miss, production loss and equipment damage), complete with detailed RCA (root cause analysis) and practical corrective actions. Ensure that the corrective actions are effectively implemented and tracked.

Collaborates with management to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies.

Make presentations to crews/divisions/corporate as required and provide facilitation support for delivery of Nevada Gold Mines sponsored training events such as New Hire, Annual Refresher Training, contractor training & onboarding, etc.

Drafts policies and procedures for area of responsibility and submits to management for approval .

Perform other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Demonstrated safety leadership requiredDemonstrated professionalism, acting with integrity, conducting oneself both responsibly and taking accountability, being honest, and transparent to foster partnerships while helping to build a sustainable legacy within our host communities, required 5 to 10 years processing experience, preferably in Crushing, Milling, Floatation, and Leaching Circuits requiredDemonstrated commitment to self-education required3 years of training or frontline supervisory experience, preferably in a mining environment preferredHigh school diploma or GED requiredMSHA Train-the-Trainer Certification (Surface) or be able to obtain one within first two months after hire requiredDrivers’ license requiredMS Office Suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook) requiredFamiliarity with Information Management Systems such as Damstra, SharePoint, Isometrix, etc. preferred
