Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER with our PHOENIX ENVIRONMENTAL department. The successful candidate is responsible for performing a variety of technical and administrative work to ensure that all legal and other compliance obligations related to the biodiversity, stormwater, artificial industrial pond, and potable water programs and permits are satisfied.

Responsibilities
· Oversee the biodiversity program, including wildlife, bird, vegetation, weed control, and riparian enhancement initiatives.
· Manage potable water, stormwater, septic systems, and artificial industrial pond programs. Ensure all related permits are maintained and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
· Align environmental practices with NGM Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
· Lead by example and actively promote NGM’s safety and environmental programs and initiatives.
· Prepare regulatory and internal environmental compliance reports.
· Coordinate and lead site inspections with regulatory agencies and manage all permitting and regulatory interactions.
· Manage contractors and vendors, including the creation of purchase orders.
· Collaborate with company subject-matter experts on complex biodiversity-related challenges.
· Maintain communication with regulatory agencies, site managers, legal counsel, corporate resources, and other stakeholders.
· Ensure permit compliance through established systems and programs and accompany inspectors during periodic evaluations of on-site and off-site work areas.
· Provide after-hours on-call support for environmental incidents, as needed.
· Be physically able to walk over uneven, sloped, rocky, wet, or icy terrain and lift 40 pounds or more consistently and safely.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (required).
· Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in environmental compliance, including regulatory agency engagement (required).
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (required).
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (required).
· Experience with database management systems (preferred).
· Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills (required).
· Experience in additional environmental media (e.g., water, waste, air, reclamation, closure, etc.) (preferred).
· Knowledge of permitting processes, especially those related to NDEP (preferred).
· Familiarity with ISO 14001:2015 standards (preferred).
· At least 2 years of experience in a mining environment (preferred).
