Responsibilities: + Register patient information and order laboratory tests. + Evaluate test request for method, time, patient preparation and proper collection procedures. + Train new and current staff in the different areas of the department. + Draw and collect blood samples according to policy. Verify all related records. + Label, process and deliver specimens for testing according to protocol. + Maintain, clean, and sterilize equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures. + Assist with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors. + Assist with office duties such as OP orders, answering phone, faxing, and filing. **Requirements** Licensure / Certification / Registration: + BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. + Certification specializing in Phlebotomy credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred. + Phlebotomy Tech preferred.
