Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team, working Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. This role involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and ensuring proper specimen handling and storage. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital environment. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws and specimen collection, including labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining specimens. + Properly explain the venipuncture process to patients in a clear and courteous manner. + Demonstrate proficiency with straight and butterfly needles. + Fully understand and follow physicians' orders. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accurate labeling and handling. + Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity according to protocol. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings. + Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results as needed. Essential Skills + Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. + Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a lab or hospital setting. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. + High School Diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Excellent tenure and strong communication skills. + Adaptability and customer service experience. + Experience in laboratory and specimen processing. + Familiarity with geriatric patient care. Work Environment This position is based in an IOP doctor's office, providing a professional setting. The role offers the opportunity to transition to a permanent position. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring adherence to dress code standards. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
