You would be responsible to obtain blood specimens, to process laboratory specimens for clinical analysis and to provide patient information to the appropriate care giver. Position will cover Inpatient, ER, Mt Sinai and processing area. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.
What will you do:
Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
Labels all specimens following laboratory policy
Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens
Position will cover Inpatient, ER, Mt Sinai and processing area
Work Hours/Shift:
2nd shift 32 hours 2-1030 pm, rotating weekends and holidays. Position will cover Inpatient, ER, Mt Sinai and processing area
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Laboratory experience, specimen processing preferred; or clinical office experience with medical terminology
National Certification preferred
