**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Phlebotomist follows physician orders t performs blood capillary and venipuncture collections from positively identified patients. These specimens are delivered to the laboratory in a timely manner. They receive patients and specimens that present to the Clinical Laboratory. They also register patients and/or patient samples for various Client Referral Accounts using a new or proper account number. The Specimens are delivered to the appropriate Laboratory Section.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ Determines priority on patient care and completes work within appropriate time frame.
+ Delegates work appropriate to job classification with clear concise directions.
+ Ensures accuracy & completeness of work performed.
+ Follows hospital policy and procedure in performing job functions, skills and tasks.
+ Willing to adjust personal schedule in cases of workload fluctuations or other departmental needs.
+ When assigned work is complete, seeks additional tasks to be done.
+ Performs well in stress and emergency situations, demonstrating effective coping skills
+ Follows through with assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
