We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist with experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, and centrifuging specimens. The ideal candidate will efficiently record maintenance data, perform decontamination, and update patient information as needed. This role requires a professional who can collect and store specimens according to established procedures, while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and safety.
ResponsibilitiesCollect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures.Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Fully understand and execute physicians' orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Ensure test requisitions or computer labels match scripts for 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity by following specific protocols.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to inquiries.
Essential SkillsMust be bilingual in Spanish.At least 6+ months of phlebotomy experience.Experience with blood draws, phlebotomy, and straight needle techniques.Experience with pediatric patients.
Additional Skills & QualificationsGED or High School Diploma.Experience with centrifuges and blood pressure measurement.
Work Environment
This position is based in an internal medicine office with a medium-volume of daily patient interactions. The work environment provides opportunities to work within smaller office settings, offering exposure to different aspects of a larger company.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
