Job Description
The Phlebotomist will perform phlebotomy and skin punctures on patients according to phlebotomy protocol to obtain suitable specimens for accurate clinical results for patient diagnosis. The role involves collecting specimens through proper handling protocol to ensure the viability of patient specimens, as well as accurate clinical results. Additionally, the Phlebotomist will perform clerical duties to receive, identify, accession, and process specimens using established protocols to facilitate timely and accurate test performance.
Responsibilities
+ Perform phlebotomy and skin punctures on patients according to protocol.
+ Collect and handle specimens properly to ensure their viability.
+ Perform clerical duties to receive, identify, accession, and process specimens.
+ Ensure timely and accurate test performance following established protocols.
Essential Skills
+ Proficient in phlebotomy and venipuncture techniques.
+ Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficient in MS Office.
+ Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Completion of a Phlebotomist Training Program.
+ ASCP Certification preferred but not required.
Work Environment
The role is based in a very busy clinic handling 40-60 sticks per day, necessitating at least 1 year of prior experience. The setting is a primary care clinic located in Murfreesboro.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
