Float Phlebotomist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Monmouth County. The ideal candidate must have their own transportation as this role requires traveling between various healthcare offices. This position offers the opportunity to work independently in a range of settings, including primary care, OBGYN, pediatric, and hematology offices.
Responsibilities
+ Perform blood draws and specimen collection independently in various healthcare offices.
+ Enter requisitions into the computer system accurately.
+ Process specimens using a centrifuge.
+ Handle an average of 15-20 patients per day.
+ Adapt to weekly schedule changes and potential day-of shift adjustments in emergency situations.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 1 year experience in phlebotomy.
+ Proficient in straight needle blood draws.
+ Phlebotomy certification required.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ Experience in laboratory processing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience working with pediatric patients.
+ Familiarity with butterfly needle technique.
Work Environment
The position operates Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM. Weekends are not required. Candidates must have their own car for travel between locations. Flexibility is essential as shifts may change weekly and could be adjusted on the same day in emergency situations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $21.00/hr.
