Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III to join our team in Chandler. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, and specimen processing, as well as the ability to update patient information accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.Decontaminate work areas and update patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.Understand and follow physicians' orders meticulously.Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as per test orders.Ensure test requisitions or computer labels match scripts accurately.Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department training sessions.Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to callers.Essential Skills
Phlebotomy expertise.Experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Understanding of OSHA and DEP regulations.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.Minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience.High School Diploma or GED.5-7 years of experience in the field.Work Environment
This position is based in a Patient Service Center (PSC) and involves working with one or more phlebotomists to draw outpatients. You will handle the entire process from entering doctor orders into the computer system, verifying insurance, taking copays or payments, to drawing blood and preparing specimens for courier pickup. The working hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Chandler, Arizona.
Pay Rate: $19-23/hr
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $24.59/hr.
