Job Description
The primary role of a Phlebotomist is to support the laboratory by performing various tasks, troubleshooting issues, providing training, and recommending workflow improvements. This position requires the ability to handle blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, decontaminating equipment, and updating patient information.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.Decontaminate equipment and update patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Clearly explain the venipuncture process and specimen collection to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.Understand and execute physicians' orders accurately.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match the script for 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.Essential Skills
Proficiency in blood draw and phlebotomy.Experience with specimen collection.Strong customer service abilities.Capability to work with individuals of varying age ranges.Strong communication skills.Understanding of medical terminology.Additional Skills & Qualifications

The work environment for a Phlebotomist involves using a variety of medical equipment and technologies. You will be interacting with patients of different age groups and working in a professional healthcare setting. Adherence to dress code is required to maintain a professional appearance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
