Job Title: Phlebotomist II Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team. The primary role of the Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position requires a high level of customer service and a thorough understanding of phlebotomy procedures. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment. + Collect and store specimens while properly explaining the venipuncture process to patients in a clear and courteous manner. + Perform draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. + Understand all physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. + Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy. + Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples according to required temperatures. + Enter data into the LabCorp Touch system and ensure all entries are accurate. + Focus on performing draws approximately 70% of the time. Essential Skills + Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) + Experience with venipuncture and specimen collection + Ability to use centrifuges and perform data entry + Phlebotomy certification and processing experience + Strong customer service skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association certification Work Environment The position supports patient service centers in Chino, Eastvale, Riverside, and Upland. This is a FLOAT position requiring availability from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with 8-hour shifts determined a week in advance. The work involves large volume sites, seeing approximately 160-200 patients daily, in a team setting with about 8 other phlebotomists. Candidates should expect to stand for most of the day, except during breaks or patient check-ins. One week of onsite training is provided, with additional processing training offsite at a later stage. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
