Job Title: Phlebotomist I Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our dynamic team in a hospital setting. This role involves performing a variety of duties related to specimen collection, testing, and result reporting to ensure high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: + Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles + Label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens per test requirements + Accurately match lab requisitions with specimen tubes + Explain collection procedures clearly and courteously + Maintain and update patient records and equipment logs + Package and prepare specimens for transport + Follow OSHA and DEP safety protocols + Support training, troubleshooting, and workflow improvements + Answer calls and relay lab results as needed Essential Skills 1+ years Phlebotomy experience in hospital setting Experience with 30+ blood draw/volume including all age groups - pediatric to geriatic Strong Customer Service skills Ability to work off shift Hospital experience is a must. Experience with heel sticks is preferred but not required. Work Environment This position is based in a hospital setting, which is a busy environment with approximately 25 to 30 blood draws daily, depending on hospital occupancy. The role involves significant walking and standing, and requires moving a 20lb push cart with phlebotomy supplies. The candidate will work in a team setting and should be prepared to handle both pediatric and geriatric specimens. Training will be conducted on-site and can last up to two weeks. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
