Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our dynamic team in a hospital setting. This role involves performing a variety of duties related to specimen collection, testing, and result reporting to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needlesLabel, centrifuge, split, and store specimens per test requirementsAccurately match lab requisitions with specimen tubesExplain collection procedures clearly and courteouslyMaintain and update patient records and equipment logsPackage and prepare specimens for transportFollow OSHA and DEP safety protocolsSupport training, troubleshooting, and workflow improvementsAnswer calls and relay lab results as needed

Essential Skills

1+ years Phlebotomy experience in hospital setting

Experience with 30+ blood draw/volume including all age groups - pediatric to geriatic

Strong Customer Service skills

Ability to work off shift

Hospital experience is a must.

Experience with heel sticks is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a hospital setting, which is a busy environment with approximately 25 to 30 blood draws daily, depending on hospital occupancy. The role involves significant walking and standing, and requires moving a 20lb push cart with phlebotomy supplies. The candidate will work in a team setting and should be prepared to handle both pediatric and geriatric specimens. Training will be conducted on-site and can last up to two weeks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
