Job Title: Phlebotomist- Float (Immediate Hiring)

Job Description

The Phlebotomist I performs daily phlebotomy activities accurately and on time while interacting with clients, patients, and other personnel in a professional and courteous manner. This role requires confidence in both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties, following established practices and procedures.

ResponsibilitiesGreet customers appropriately and treat all customers in a courteous manner.Ensure all field phlebotomy specimens are collected accurately and on time.Collect specimens according to established procedures.Explain the process of venipuncture or other specimen collection clearly and courteously.Reduce patient anxiety by providing a calm environment before, during, and after the collection process.Dispose of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into the computer.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples according to required temperature.Demonstrate proficiency in proper collection methods and processing of all specimens.Maintain required records and documentation.Perform basic clerical duties, including filing, faxing, and preparing mail.Display courteous and professional behavior to clients, patients, and co-workers.Communicate with co-workers and clients to promote a harmonious and cooperative working environment.Ensure facilities are neat, clean, and in good repair, and advise Group Leader of required repairs and maintenance.Assist with periodic inventory counts and report shortages and problems as they occur.Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.Familiarize with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including Privacy and Security policies.Essential SkillsProficiency in phlebotomy, blood draw, venipuncture, and specimen collection.Ability to process samples, including centrifuge and pipetting.Phlebotomy certification is preferred.1-2 years of phlebotomy experience required.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.Preferred 3+ years of phlebotomy experience.Experience in clinical settings is a plus.Work Environment

This position requires floating in the North Atlanta area, including Acworth, Canton, Roswell, Alpharetta, and Johns Creek. The home office will be the new administrative office in Marietta. A daily schedule will be provided based on call outs, PTO, and vacancies. Candidates must be extremely flexible and will be compensated for travel time and mileage over the commute to the Marietta admin office.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marietta, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $22.00/hr.
