Job Title: Phlebotomist
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled phlebotomist to join a dynamic team at a nationally recognized hospital lab. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling, centrifuging specimens, and recording data while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques, including urine and fecal samples.Demonstrate proficiency in straight needles and butterfly needles techniques.Understand and execute lab orders, physician orders, and blood work orders accurately.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test protocols.Accurately label and place samples in appropriate collection containers or tubes.Follow procedures specific to protocol for specimen transport to maintain integrity.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Update patient information and ensure decontamination protocols are followed.Essential SkillsPhlebotomy expertise with proficiency in blood draws and venipuncture.Experience with specimen processing.Knowledge and experience in working with pediatric, oncology, and geriatric patients.Familiarity with vacutainer systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications1+ year of phlebotomy experience in a medical diagnostic lab or hospital laboratory setting.Proficiency in venipunctures within a lab or hospital setting.High School Diploma or GED.Work Environment

The position is located within a hospital central lab draw center, providing an opportunity to work with a well-established medical diagnostic company. The environment is professional, with access to state-of-the-art medical equipment and technologies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ocala, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
