Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist to join our team in a dynamic healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will excel in performing phlebotomy and managing specimen collection and processing, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and accuracy in laboratory operations.

ResponsibilitiesPerform phlebotomy and collect appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Maintain proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program, including accessioning logs, equipment records, and checklists.Send specimens to reference laboratories for any testing not performed in house.Process incoming orders for lab testing.Process in-house and incoming reports.Update and file all daily paperwork, lab logs, and maintenance logs.Operate designated laboratory equipment as directed.Assist with patient flow as needed.Properly identify patients, draw blood samples, and send to the laboratory for analysis.

Additional Skills & QualificationsThree or more years of phlebotomy experience required.High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience in an Oncology setting is a plus, but not required.Fast learner who asks questions and is motivated.Friendly demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
Work Environment

The position is based in a physician office attached to a hospital. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend shifts and no overtime. The phlebotomist will work alongside another phlebotomist, handling a patient load ranging from 40 to 70 patients per day.

This is a Contract position based out of Weslaco, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
