Job Title: Phlebotomist V

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Phlebotomist V to join our team in Austin. This is a high-level role requiring advanced proficiency in specimen collection and handling, with a strong preference for candidates who have pediatric experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced clinical or hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipunctures and other specimen collection procedures with precision and careCollect, label, and store specimens according to established protocolsCentrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test ordersEnsure accurate matching of laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubesPackage specimens for transport, maintaining proper temperature and integrityUpdate patient information and maintain accurate recordsExplain procedures clearly and courteously to patients, including pediatric patientsDemonstrate proper technique using straight and butterfly needlesComply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainingsAnswer phone inquiries and read laboratory results as neededTroubleshoot issues and make workflow improvement recommendationsQualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience on all agesHigh school diploma or GED requiredStrong understanding of physician orders and laboratory protocolsAbility to work efficiently in a high-volume environmentSkills:

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.00/hr.
