Job Description
The role involves traditional phlebotomy duties with additional responsibilities such as processing, centrifuging, and specimen splitting. A high level of customer service is emphasized, and the role requires entering orders and data entry using the LabCorp Touch system. The primary focus is on blood draws, which constitute approximately 70% of the role.
ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws on patients of all ages, with an expected daily volume of around 120 draws.Enter orders and manage data entry efficiently using the designated system.Process and ship specimens following established protocols.Maintain cleanliness and restock supplies as needed.Confirm patient information and liaise with doctor offices.Work collaboratively with another phlebotomist in a busy patient service center environment.Essential SkillsProficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and blood draws.Experience with centrifuge operations.Strong customer service skills.Competence in medical record management and data entry.Active phlebotomy experience of at least one year is preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with geriatric and pediatric patients is advantageous.CPT and BLS certifications are highly preferred.Hospital experience is beneficial, and candidates should be adaptable to fast-paced environments.Work Environment
The work environment is a laboratory and medical setting, with coverage hours changing daily between 6 AM and 6 PM. The role requires standing for approximately 50% of the time and may involve floating to multiple locations, including Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, Foothill Ranch, and Laguna Beach. Initial training spans two weeks and is conducted in Wildomar, Tustin, and Los Angeles, with accommodation provided if necessary.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.
