Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join a dynamic and fast-paced clinic. This position requires experience handling high patient volumes, with an average of 100 patients per day. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with patients and drawing blood from pediatric patients. Responsibilities + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods clearly and courteously. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. + Understand and execute all physician orders accurately. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required. + Ensure test requisitions or computer labels match the script with 100% accuracy. + Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples at the required temperature. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department trainings. + Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills + Minimum of 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience. + Proficiency in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. + Experience in processing or accessioning samples using centrifuges. + Comfortable drawing blood from pediatric patients. + Strong customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Understanding of volume management in a clinic setting. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. + Familiarity with HIV patient care. Work Environment The position operates within the clinic from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with the site closing at 2:30 PM. The role requires remaining until all draws are completed or assisting with wrap-up before the next day's operations. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $20.65/hr.
