JOB SUMMARY

Location BSWH Medical Center Waxahachie TX 

Department Laboratory 

Shift Night Friday - Sunday 9pm -930am 

Preferred Experience Must be a national agency certified phlebotomist with at least 3 yrs of hospital experience This role completes the morning run collections which is a high volume fast paced process 

The Phlebotomist 2 collects and processes quality specimens in a safe manner as outlined in BSWH policies and procedures. Aids in the delivery of exceptional patient care. Assists with training and auditing of behaviors and performance, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Follows all established specimen collection, labeling, transportation, and handling procedures.

Responsible for high customer satisfaction through professional and ethical conduct.

Performs job responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.

Performs clerical duties.

Demonstrates engagement with achieving department goals and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent

- EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - 
       Donor Phlebotomy Tech-ASCP (DPT), Phlebotomy Technician (PBT): Must have a Phlebotomy Tech Cert from one of these agencies:
ASCP, NPA, ASPT, NCCT, NHA, AMT, NAHP, AMCA, AAH or ACA.

OR 

Donor Phlebotomy Tech certification from the ASCP.
