You will do so much more than counting prescriptions and ringing out patients, you will make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers. **This caregiver would work 5, 8 hour shifts per week. Rotating day/evening/possibly nights (if coverage is needed)/weekends/holidays. Shifts are 6am-2:30pm, 7:30am-4pm, 11:30am-8pm, 1pm-9:30pm, 8pm-6am (less common, night shift). No on call requirements.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding. + Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. + Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections. + Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. + Document regulatory requirements, including temperature logs, scheduled activities and training. + Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks. + Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma/GED + Understanding of algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds **Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:** + Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP).   **Please note:** A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role. However, please visit the apprenticeship program to express interest:  https://talentcommunity.clevelandclinic.org/campaign/apprentiship-programs/ ) + It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Six months of hospital experience + Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program + Prior inpatient experience **Physical Requirements:** + Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding. **Personal Protective Equipment:** * Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $21.50 Maximum hourly: $31.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
