You will make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, their families and your fellow caregivers. **A caregiver in this position works days from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. with every other weekend requirements** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Assist pharmacists in filling inpatient orders, including completion of necessary documentation. + Prepare, deliver and collect all pharmacy items throughout the medical center including re-stocking of automated dispensing cabinets. + Perform floor checks, stock check and assigned unit review as required. + Complete all Pharmacy Keeper Activities and inspections assigned to their position. + Assist Pharmacists in monitoring stock for outdated medications and properly disposing of them in a timely manner. + Process medication returns / refunds to patient accounts. + Compound non-sterile medications according to USP795 regulations. + Prepackage medication as necessary and according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Answer telephones and assist callers with needs that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. + Interact with EPIC, our dispensing automation software (e.g. Pyxis, Carousels, etc.) and Pharmacy Keeper software to answer all questions related to the processing of a medication order. + Assist customers at the service window including caregivers, couriers and others as needed. + Complete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma/GED + Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) + Proficient typing skills + Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy + Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within six months of hire Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Associate's Degree or completion of some college coursework + Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician + Previous experience in a hospital inpatient pharmacy + Previous experience with EPIC or similar programs + Understanding of medical terminology and calculations Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
