Cleveland Clinic's inpatient pharmacy areas support distributive and clinical pharmacy services provided by staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists and pharmacy technicians, supporting 60 nursing units, 80 operating rooms, 4 PACUs, and 10 Cath labs, accounting for over 1,440 inpatient beds. As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital link in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. You will join a team that empowers every caregiver to make valuable contributions to patient-focused care, teaching and research activities. This team embraces a positive attitude and respects and supports one another to provide the best care possible. **A caregiver in this position works day/evening shift. The rotation is three weeks of days shift 6:30am-3:00pm followed by one week on second shift 2:00pm-10:30pm and every third weekend.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding. + Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. + Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections. + Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training. + Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks. + Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma/GED + Understanding of algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds **Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:** + Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) + **Please note:** A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role.
