Pharmacy Technician - Dispensing 1st Shift

Position Summary

CVS Health has an exciting opportunity in Mount Prospect, IL for a Pharmacy Technician to be a part of our Mail Order Pharmacy team! The Pharmacy Technician is essential to ensuring patients receive their medications in a timely manner. As part of the team, you will have an important, uniquely rewarding role putting your Pharmacy Technician skills and experience to work in a closed-door pharmacy setting. You will make a difference by excelling in a complex, high impact dispensing role and positively impacting the lives of others. You will work alongside a team of talented individuals in a concerted team effort and under the direct supervision of Lead Technicians and Pharmacy Supervisors. The ideal candidate will possess high levels of reliability, accuracy, professionalism, team orientation, and problem-solving skills. 

As a filling Pharmacy Technician working in the pharmacy, you will be responsible for all aspects of the filling of mail order prescriptions. You get to manually fill, canister fill, and channel fill for the automated machines. As a backend Pharmacy Technician, you get to work directly with the medication and the filing or operations of automated machines.  

It’s critical that you know how to use a 10 keypad and can lift 40 pounds. As a Pharmacy Technician you will be standing for the length of your shift. Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with all levels of staff is also required. 

Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 6:15am to 2:45pm

Saturdays 7:30am to 4:00pm

Off Thursday and Sundays

Required Qualification

Regular and predictable attendance

Colleague will be required to work mandatory overtime/extended work week when needed

Colleague will be required to travel when needed

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to reach/twist/turn/bend/stoop/walk and lift up to 40 pounds

Willingness to apply for a Illinois Pharmacy Technician License

Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam successfully passed by December 31st of your 2nd IL Pharmacy Technician License renewal


Preferred Qualifications

Formal Pharmacy Technician training

Pharmacy Technician experience

Certified Pharmacy Technician prior to 2024


Education

Verifiable High School Diploma, GED or 1 year equivalent work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$17.00 - $31.30

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
