The Pharmacy Technician supports a collaborative outpatient pharmacy environment processing approximately 150–175 prescriptions per day while playing a key role in bedside delivery services and discharge support. Responsibilities include assisting patients throughout the pharmacy experience, supporting point-of-sale transactions, coordinating bedside medication deliveries, and maintaining efficient daily workflow alongside pharmacists and fellow technicians. All technicians receive bedside delivery training and have the opportunity to actively participate in the program. This role offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with no weekend or holiday requirements, along with strong work-life balance and opportunities for cross-training within outpatient pharmacy operations.
A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm with no weekends, holidays or float expectations.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients. Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy. Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items. Operate the point-of-sale cash register system. Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products. Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:
Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Florida Board of Pharmacy (FBOP). Please note: A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with FBOP does not qualify for this role. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). This will be required within 18 months of hire. Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program. Six months of hospital experience.Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.Personal Protective Equipment:
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
