The Pharmacy Technician - Community supports daily operations within an open-door outpatient pharmacy serving a broad patient population. This role is responsible for filling prescriptions, managing inventory, stocking medications, answering phones, and assisting customers at the register. Working as part of a collaborative team, the technician helps ensure efficient workflow, accurate medication distribution, and a positive patient experience. **A caregiver in this role will work various day shifts. Only two technicians on the weekends and they rotate about every 5th weekend. They would get off another weekday when working a weekend.** **This Pharmacy is open:** **7am to 7pm, Monday through Friday** **Closed Sundays** **9am to 1pm on Saturdays** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. + Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients. + Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy. + Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items. + Operate the point-of-sale cash register system. + Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products. + Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma/GED + Six months of related experience OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program **Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:** + Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP). **Please note:** A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role. However, please visit the apprenticeship program to express interest:  https://talentcommunity.clevelandclinic.org/campaign/apprentiship-programs/ + It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Six months of hospital experience + Prior outpatient experience **Physical Requirements:** + Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, and sitting for prolonged times; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. while walking, stooping, bending and reaching. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $21.50 Maximum hourly: $31.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
