The Pharmacy Technician - Community supports daily operations within an open-door outpatient pharmacy serving a broad patient population. This role is responsible for filling prescriptions, managing inventory, stocking medications, answering phones, and assisting customers at the register. Working as part of a collaborative team, the technician helps ensure efficient workflow, accurate medication distribution, and a positive patient experience. **A caregiver in this role will work various day shifts. Only two technicians on the weekends and they rotate about every 5th weekend. They would get off another weekday when working a weekend.** **This Pharmacy is open:** **7am to 7pm, Monday through Friday** **Closed Sundays** **9am to 1pm on Saturdays** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. + Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients. + Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy. + Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items. + Operate the point-of-sale cash register system. + Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products. + Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High School Diploma/GED + Six months of related experience OR completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program **Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:** + Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP). **Please note:** A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role. However, please visit the apprenticeship program to express interest:  https://talentcommunity.clevelandclinic.org/campaign/apprentiship-programs/ + It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Six months of hospital experience + Prior outpatient experience **Physical Requirements:** + Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, and sitting for prolonged times; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. while walking, stooping, bending and reaching. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $21.50 Maximum hourly: $31.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
